argues that that “the sun has set” on English football in light of the country’s dismal failure to qualify for the Euro 2008 championship. Goal goes on to offer
a scathing crticism of Fox Soccer Channel in the US for its Englishness and devotion to the Barclay’s Premier League above coverage of other football leagues, especially America’s Major League Soccer (MLS).
